Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little TC probe I've been developing a mini furnace for waste treatment and needed a quick read of temperatures it was reaching. Already had a TC-input thermometer, so just needed a probe that was rugged yet cheap enough to replace when (if) it burned out. This fit the need perfectly. Still going strong after half a dozen test firings.

I'm trying to calibrate an Omega KTSS-HH K-type thermocouple probe and cannot find ANY accuracy or temperature range of use specifications for this probe. Can anyone at Omega provide this data?

Asked by: JRW2019
The specification would be for a Type K Thermocouple with special limits of error per ASTM E230-ANSI MC 96.1. The accuracy is +/- 1.1 C or 0.4% of reading whichever is greater for the Temperature range of 0 to 1250C. Below 0 follows the Standard Limits of Error +/- 2.2 C or 0.75% of reading whichever is greater -200 to 0 C.

Is this probe compatible with 95% sulfuric acid heated to 130 degrees C?

Asked by: TMcC
No. This would need to be PFA-coated to work in this type of application. We do not offer PFA coating on this particular probe. Please contact our tech support at 1-800-872-9436 x 2209 for items which could be used. The probe(s) recommended would be "custom-made" with a minimum order required.
